Over the past weekend, the Shepherd High School Cadets attended a Leadership Camp at Newcomb Ranch in New Braunfels. This annual event is available to schools across Texas, aiming to equip our students with valuable skills for their future endeavors.

The Cadets engaged in various training activities such as the blindfold challenge, high ropes course, numbers game, squad/platoon games, and more. These activities were designed to emphasize the importance of teamwork, facilitate interactions with new individuals, conquer the fear of heights, and address other potential challenges.

The students not only gained valuable lessons, but also acquired a diverse set of skills applicable to real-world scenarios. These skills encompass marching, time management, scheduling, safe swimming, craft proficiency, logical reasoning, and the safe rescue of individuals from water, among others.

Safe swimming is crucial for water safety and can potentially save lives. Craft skills offer valuable benefits such as the ability to create items for your profession, repair things, and produce goods for sale. These are just a few of the reasons why our students hold these events in such high regard.
